Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love to build, explore, and create, and soft blocks are the perfect tools to help them do just that in a safe, engaging way. During our Blocks Learning Labs, children work together to build towers, bridges, cities, and more. But this is not just play, it is hands-on learning that strengthens spatial awareness, problem-solving skills, collaboration, and creativity.

To make our block play even more meaningful, we’re also incorporating multicultural block play figurines.

These inclusive figures help students see themselves and others in the worlds they build. They encourage conversations about diversity, community, and empathy while reinforcing that everyone belongs in the stories we create together.

Soft blocks are especially wonderful for our youngest learners. They’re lightweight, safe, and easy to handle, giving every child a chance to participate regardless of size, strength, or ability. Whether during structured lessons or open exploration, these materials help students make real-world connections in math, science, social studies, and storytelling.
