Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In my high school severe needs classroom, emotions often feel overwhelming and words can be hard to find. Many of my students have disabilities, trauma histories, and limited communication—but they also have incredible capacity for growth. I want to bring the Slumberkins SEL curriculum into my classroom to help students build emotional awareness, resilience, and connection. Slumberkins' books and plush creatures offer calming, visual, and tactile ways to explore big feelings safely. These tools will support self-regulation, confidence, and healing in a way traditional lessons can't. Your support helps me create a nurturing space where students feel seen, heard, and empowered every day. Thank you for helping me teach that all emotions are welcome—and that every student deserves to feel safe, loved, and understood.
