This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My elementary kiddos are full of big energy and big emotions. They love getting one on one time and small groups. It provides them with a safe space to share their struggles.
Learning through books that are kid-friendly is a wonderful way to help students cope with their big emotions.
They begin to see themselves in the characters in the stories and understand the message.
I would love to be able to build our little library for small groups to help build our coping skills. Reading is a form of therapy and support for kids when emotions get bigger than their little bodies know how to manage.
