Help me give my students the opportunity to go on our field trip at a lower cost.

My Students
Our school is a Title-One school with 85% of our population receiving free or reduced lunch. Many of the students at our school are considered economically disadvantaged. Many of them live in poverty and some have experienced trauma that no person should ever have to endure. Despite this harsh reality, they are amazing and capable children who are ambitious and hungry for learning.
My classroom is filled with first grade students who are passionate, curious, and eager to learn!
They come from diverse backgrounds and each have their own way of learning. Their lack of experiences gives me the opportunity to witness many aha moments. It is my responsibility to create engaging and meaningful learning experiences for them, both in and out of the classroom. They are worth it and deserve the very best!
My Project
Our first grade students will be researching ocean animals and writing informative texts about their animal. As a culminating activity, we will be visiting Sea World Orlando to see the animals they research up close!
We have reserved two air conditioned charter buses so we can comfortably and safely travel during one of Florida's hottest months.
The cost of the park admission and buses equals $80 per student and $80 per chaperone. In an effort to make the cost cheaper for our families, many of who live in poverty, we are hoping to get one of the charter buses funded.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
