Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students consist of three and four year olds who love to learn. They are eager to explore through hands on activities and I'm eager to engage them in meaningful play experiences to foster life long learning experiences. They range in different levels of academic achievement including language development and about 50% are English Language Learners.

Our school is an early childhood center whose motto is to spread a love of learning and respect for one another.

Learning can only take place when our students care about their school and friends. Caring for your friends and teachers starts with role models so that students take pride in their school and learning will naturally occur.

My Project

The big books will be available for all the students in all areas of the classroom. The books will aid students in learning math, science and new vocabulary concepts. Large illustrations and large print will encourage students to make connections leading to print awareness.

We love big books!

Students are highly engaged when sharing big books with large illustrations and large print. Big books are used to support shared readings and read alouds. Students gather together to read stories and take part in discussions as they turn the pages and call attention to the illustrations and large print leading to a love of books.
