Big Books for Big Kids!

My students will need one Magnetic Write and Wipe Big Book center, three sets of magnetic write and wipe markers with eraser caps, and the Read It-Sing It big books and a CD set.

This project is fully funded

I teach first grade in a title I school. I have approximately eighteen students each school year. Most of my students come from low socio-economic families.

Each year, many of my students and their families do not value reading and writing as I do. I try really hard to make reading and writing fun and interesting for my first grade students. In order to make reading and writing fun and exciting, I need supplies and equipment other than what comes with our curriculum. The school district that I teach in does not give teachers any money for their classrooms. You get only what the curriculum comes with.

I want to create a fun and exciting new literacy center for my students. I will use the big book magnetic wipe off center and books w/songs with my students. This will allow them to get with a buddy and read, share, and work on many literacy skills during center time. My goal is for the "Big Books for Big Kids" project is to make learning to read and write fun and enjoyable for my first grade students.

I need your help in funding my "Big Books for Big Kids" project. I want my students to value reading and writing. I want them to love reading and to see the importance of writing. I need your help in order to get these materials for my students.
