My Project

Learning to read and interact with books is an important part of the kindergarten classroom. One part of learning to read is shared reading, where we read a book together. One way to do this is by reading big books! My students love listening to stories read aloud. Big books are fun to read and see and it allows all students to see the words we read.

A big book easel will help to display our big books to make shared reading and story time accessible for students to reward themselves with reading and learning.

This easel will allow us to read the big books we have and it will act as storage for books. If we had a big book easel, students would be able to interact with the big books more often, and it would be easier for me to read books with them. This easel also acts as a magnetic station where students can use letters and whiteboard pens to read and write words.
