Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
While this is a trade school, many of the students enrolled in Enrichment classes have the aptitude to enroll in a two or four-year college. Our units in this course include academic study habits, career exploration, digital literacy, and SAT/College prep.
My 9th-grade Enrichment classes need basic classroom supplies so we can use them during independent practice and small-group learning.
Each student will be receiving a folder (color-coded by class/section) which will include paper, pens, and Post-it notes for annotating. They will also have access to the expo markers when we use our individual whiteboards to respond to text-dependent questions.
I would like to provide these resources during the first week of school in order to support students by strengthening their literacy and writing skills. This group of Title I students are close or at grade level reading and we use this opportunity to strengthen their skills in order to show proficiency in our assessments. These materials will be essential for us to use throughout the year!
