This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My name is Isis Richardson; I am the college advisor and Varsity Cheer Coach at BHSVA. Your support will significantly affect our cheerleading team's need for practice uniforms. The BHSVA cheerleaders are focusing on sports' effect on school culture and community.
Over the next four months, the BHSVA cheerleaders will concentrate on team building through fundraisers and practice.
Our cheerleaders do not have uniforms and train in white shirts and black sweatpants, and they show up early and leave late. Having uniformed cheerleading apparel for practice will increase the team's morale.
Our cheerleaders will prepare for their first-ever school pep rally on 2/15 and their first school showcase. Seniors are excited to participate in cheerleading, given the loss of sports due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Your support will decrease the financial contribution of what many of our cheerleaders and their families will have to contribute for cheer practice uniforms.
