This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in a low income school where most of the students receive free/reduce lunch. My 9, 5th grade students, are eager to learn, but are limited to their resources. If I am provided with appropriate tools, my students will benefit from using more technology in the class and collaborating with their peers.
My students come to school every single day ready to give their all and embrace any obstacle thrown their in their direction..
My students are hungry for knowledge.
My Project
The use of the right technology tools will help students learn beyond the books. The students will be able to visit places they haven't seen using the web. Many of my students would benefit from technology in order to produce written work. With the use of Chromebooks, an iPad and headphones, my students can express themselves and do not have to worry about their handwriting. They will get to use specific educational apps; such as speech to text, to assistance with their writing.
With the proper tools, my students will be able to enhance their learning and self confidence.
These students also benefit from numerous reading programs via the internet that build both their phonics and comprehension. Students can work at their own pace and are able to access more individualized curriculum.
