it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class has 22 kindergartners from across the district, with various backgrounds, personalities, and interests. They are inquisitive children who are ready for learning. For many of them, this is the first year in a classroom. My students enter kindergarten with various levels of writing experience. They grow socially and academically throughout the year. During this important year, we build the foundation for their future.
Learning the proper way to hold writing utensils and form letters and numbers sets them up for future success!
We need a variety of materials to help us achieve this goal.
My Project
Kindergarten is an exciting year! Students come to school eager to learn. During this important year kindergartners learn their letters, numbers, and they learn to draw and write. In this digital age many students enter kindergarten with little experience using pencils, markers, or pens. They need repetitive practice to learn proper grip and proper letter and number formation.
Giving students a variety of methods to practice handwriting keeps an otherwise tedious task fun and engaging!
The Lakeshore Magic Boards give students an opportunity to practice writing skills in a reusable, no-mess manner. The alphabet overlays are bright and inviting, and they provide handwriting guidance so students can practice independently. Colorful dry erase cards provide another reusable method of letter practice. Students love using colorful markers to trace letters and words and practice writing on their own. The small erasers are just the right size for students to erase the cards and get them ready for the next friend.
