This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are curious, tenacious, and unrepentant dreamers. Their tenacity and compassion will make them happy, well rounded adults that will change the world into a better place.
I'm so proud of the way my students throw themselves wholeheartedly into their passions, and I'd like nothing more than to facilitate their curiosity.
My Project
Books & Beyond is a project meant to support students' curiosity by opening a small library in my classroom. The resources available are not just inspired by what we're discussing in class, but by the writing students are interested in exploring.
By providing students expedited access to texts they're interested in, they'll be able to pursue their interests and connect dots between academics and their passions.
These texts serve not just as sources of information for students to engage with, but as sources of inspiration. Surrounding students with tactile, transformative objects such a s books fosters the connection between school and dreams; hard work and inspiration; today and tomorrow.
