My Students

My students are all enrolled in the International Baccalaureate curriculum. They are all ferociously attentive to detail and focused on research. The school is in the Milwaukee Public Schools district, and therefor serves a large number of underserved students; many of our kids come from impoverished homes. Not all, but many. Some are even listed as homeless.

I'm striving to build a Maker Space within the library to enhance the STEM curriculum areas.

I was able to recently secure funding for a GlowForge, which is a laser etcher/cutter. It will dovetail with the 3D printer which we acquired last year.

I need to add on the GlowForge Air Filter to be compliant in our building. I also need to purchase materials for crafting the projects.

Our students will be able to learn, experiment, create, and teach others to how to produce a product.

My Project

My students do not currently have a Maker Space in the building. We have acquired a handful of gadgets, tools, games, supplies, and a 3D printer.

The GlowForge etcher/printer will become a centerpiece for our arts & crafts, science, math, and hopefully culinary projects.

The GlowForge Air Filter will make building compliant. Supplies for the GlowForge will allow for a good start.

Our art as well as out science students will benefit from this equipment. They will be able to create projects that will demonstrate their knowledge, as well as create projects that help teachers create better learning space in the building.
