This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students this year are incredibly hard-working, diligent, and productive. This school year, our primary focus in school is to meet students where they are, and offer explicit instruction in areas of need. By looking at data from diagnostics, classwork, class discussions, and more, I have been able to pinpoint what foundational skills my students need to work on in order to move forward. This has allowed me to separate students into small groups based on what they can already do well, and what areas of instruction they may need more support in. Since our classroom primarily meets in small groups, we are often sitting and working on our rug during all parts of the day. However, sitting on the rug is not sustainable for all of the work we are doing throughout the day.
We are asking for a small group table, so that we may all have a place to sit, and a steady surface to write on!
We are also asking for Power Pen materials that would really support our learning during these small group times, especially when working on our reading and math fluency! Please consider making a difference to our classroom (and our postures!) by donating to our cause. Our backs really appreciate it!
