Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Students are in band and orchestra classes. They belong to a low-income area is Salt Lake City, Utah. My students face many hardships at home with lots of single parents, and heavy numbers having to relocate schools often throughout the year. Over 70% of the school is on free lunch.
My students are very motivated in their learning and love for music.
These students enjoy creating music classes and are very excited for the opportunity to have better tools at their disposal!
My Project
Students will be recording themselves for playing tests and benchmarks. They will receive individualized feedback on their playing and other abilities. They are in need of quality mics to pick up their sound on their Chromebooks. The built in mics just don't cut it.
These quality microphones will provide the students with the ability to make quality recordings for their playing tests and benchmarks.
Their sound they record will be more like the one they actually produce, and not the terrible quality that is produced through the mics in Chromebooks. These students hard working and deserve some quality in their lives.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
