This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As we begin a new, exciting (and challenging) school year here in New York City, my priority is to provide students with the most effective strategies for success -- to do this, I need to be highly prepared and able to provide cutting-edge lessons, assessments, and creative, interactive activities that will keep all students engaged, during every minute of class.

I am requesting an updated laptop to plan, write, and create all of our Health Education lessons; embed media in the most efficient way; keep track of each student's progress, interface with families, and make our curriculum accessible to each learners, regardless of their English-language level.

In addition, the enhanced camera and audio capabilities of an updated computer will support my increasingly online-life as a teacher, mentor, team member, and life-long learner. Many meetings are now online, and reliable, professional video-chat technology is critical. I am an educator who lives my job in and outside of the classroom, so that this equipment will be used to the max.
