This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember your favorite reading corner? Think of the anticipation and excitement you felt when you are reading in a relaxing place. After a year of “hybrid” mode, students must miss their “station” time in school. My students are avid readers who are craving to discover the newest adventures in their favorite book series. I’m working on an awesome library for them.
Books are so important to my students and are truly valued.
This is my first time being a first grade teacher in a dual language elementary school. I believe classroom library is an essential resource for my students. Many of my students do not have access to books at home and some of them might not even have a quiet place to read at home. My goal is to provide them that place to enjoy the world in books during school time.
My Project
Students will use these products with a reading buddy. These products will help students improve their basic literacy skills such as reading, speaking and writing. Last year, most of my students were in “hybrid” learning. Not many of them had accomplished their grade level skills and so they would need extra works this year. The 100 words will help them become better readers as well as the picture books set. These picture books will be gifted to the best readers in my class at the end of the school year. I’m hoping these books will become their friends after all.
