This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Literacy and Math centers are necessary in my 1st and 2nd grade special needs classroom. Every aspect of the curriculum needs to be differentiated, so providing many different games for independent learning need to be created to meet each students' needs.

I teach 12 incredibly talented and sweet students with various developmental delays.

My classroom is located in a high poverty area, and the school budget does not allow for the purchasing of supplies needed to create centers. My students crave learning something new using their learning modality of choice. Literacy centers allow my students to learn independently.

My Project

I will create many literacy and math centers using the white and colored card stock I have requested, and then laminate them for future use. My students love playing games and they do not realize they are learning at the same time. They will be able to take control of their own learning and practice skills they are confident in and learn new skills with these materials.

Having supplies to be creative and take charge of my students learning is very important.

Having to wait for supplies to be available wastes valuable time in the classroom. A well stocked classroom is a time saver and provides seamless instruction.
