My Project

As a Title 1 reading specialist, I am always trying to improve my pedagogy. Thanks to my district, I have received excellent instruction on how to teach reading through systematic teaching of phonemic awareness and phonic skills. But once students have unlocked the code to read, they need to build fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension skills.

These professional development books will help me provide explicit, evidence-based instruction in the areas of reading fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.

I love my students and want each of them to leave elementary school with the ability to read and comprehend at or above grade level. The key to this is having the best possible instruction. Please help me give these deserving students just that.
