Better Guided Reading Experience

My Students

During the coronavirus pandemic my students have been separated form the classroom for two months. In order to close the achievement gap, I must supply the best lessons that I can. Working with students that are special needs and are below reading level I have to ensure that they get the best that I'm able to give them. Live Guided Reading sessions are the way to ensure that my students who are hard working and very bright get the extra set of resources that they need.

My Project

I never thought that I would be a virtual teacher, but I have embraced it head on. I have switched over to using Zoom to teach new content, have virtual parent teacher conferences, conducting virtual tutoring sessions, and still having a little fun with my students having fun movie Fridays.

Getting students to enhance their reading skills and improve their reading levels is what we will be working on the next few weeks.

The teaching guides, table top charts and dry erase boards will assist me in giving them even more while we move forward to summer guided reading sessions. I will also be able to use these materials when we go back into the classroom in the fall.
