This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in a magnet secondary high school that focuses on marine and environmental science. Students interested in attending must go through an application process. Once accepted, they are part of a diverse, gifted, and motivating learning environment.
Students at our school are eager to learn and get involved in their community.
They jump into a rigorous schedule that includes AP classes and Dual Enrollment classes, to get a better understanding of our world in hope of contributing to their society.
My Project
Mathematics is hard enough to learn when you’re in the classroom, imagine how difficult it can be through a screen. I believe with an iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil, I can simplify online learning by giving my students virtual feedback. Since we are learning virtually, my students turn in work virtually when they are used to turning in work on paper and receiving it back with teacher written feedback.
Using the iPad and the Apple Pencil, I can provide better feedback through distance learning.
This feedback will make them better learners because we learn from our mistakes but only when we know we’ve made them.
