Help me give my students the best experience possible in my classroom with board games that encourage interpersonal interactions amongst classmates and novels that educate on historical occurrences while encouraging empathy, like Salt to the Sea.

My Project
Some students completely missed out on peer interaction during the pandemic and are still missing some of the skills and opportunities to interact due to technology and other aspects of life. Board games help give students a reason to engage with one another face to face, while encouraging conflict resolution. Novels like Salt to the Sea, with differing perspectives, cultures, experiences, are also needed in the classroom to engage academic learning and expose students to a world different than their own. While having classics like Romeo & Juliet (No Fear Shakespeare version), exposes students to literature that includes universal themes that are still relatable to their life. Having engaging, high interest novels allows students to buy into the learning experience and do better academically.
