My Students
Just imagine the way you felt when you received a present as a birthday or Christmas gift and you couldn't wait to tear off the wrapping paper to see what was inside. I have students who would love to receive the gift of math and literacy games to help enhance their learning skills.
My students are amazing!!.
They are fill of so much energy and excitement when they come into the classroom. They are literally bursting at the seams because they can't contain the excitement of wanting to learn something new each day. I am a I am a I I am a Kindergarten teacher located in Virginia, and my students mostly come from a high poverty area where they live in mostly single parent homes. Due to budget cuts we have to come up with different ways to get badly needed supplies for our room. My students love to play games and I believe hands-on manipulatives and math/literacy games would give them more opportunities to learn and master their skill through game play.
My Project
I would love to have fun engaging activities and games in my classroom. I believe that with these much needed supplies, it will help to increase and reinforce my students literacy/math skills. These supplies would help to teach my students to identify and recognize letters, identify and count numbers, practice their beginning, ending and middle sounds, increase their rhyming and phonic skills. I believe that getting and putting the right materials and activities in their hands can help enhance their skills and also make literacy and math even more fun to learn.
I feel that providing my students with the opportunities to develop their math and literacy skills is very important to their success in school.
With these much needed materials, I can help increase my students ability to learn through hands-on play with math and literacy games. I believe it will also boost their self-confidence and they will want to become more engaged in our daily whole group reading and math talks.
