About My Students

My upper class students on the basketball team have practically begged for a bench that their team can seat on when hosting their basketball games.

With the basketball season just about to get underway we have been discussing what goals the team has for this year's basketball season. That led us to the discussion of what the team needs to have to lead to a successful season. The students unanimously voted for basketball benches.

Team sports, such as basketball, give students an opportunity to collaborate, encourage and challenge one another. The relationships that students form with their peers through sports helps create well-rounded individuals. Our basketball players learn to balance their academic workload with their extracurricular activities. The time constraints placed on them with the practice and game schedule exposes them to the importance of time management.

In Their Own Words

We want our basketball team to be properly presented. Currently, we don't have any seating for the team. Our school has a full-size gymnasium and typically hosts most of our basketball games.

The new basketball bench will be something we can contribute to our school facility and will be used by other students for years to come. Students need to know that they have a voice and that their ideas are important.

This project will help us gain school pride. The bench will take the place of two balance beams that are pushed up against the wall where there is a void. Please help us fill that void!
