This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Everyone remembers one teacher in particular warmly. I aspire to be that teacher for my students every day. I work as a mathematics teacher in a Miami Title I middle school. Because I work at a Title I school, the majority of my students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunches based on their socioeconomic situation.
My Project
We live in a digital age, and I want to ensure that our students can express themselves in ways that they can understand. They will receive a Microsoft Pro laptop and pen as part of this project, which will enable students to produce visual works of art that convey inclusiveness and social-emotional viewpoints. They will utilize the laptop to browse websites to study issues in their community and school and to produce visual posters to foster change in the future. We aim to help raise a whole child. It is my goal that this effort would inspire them to join and change a movement that will help students for the rest of their lives. I'm hoping that by giving to this project, you can help make this a reality. Thank you very much!
