Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Over the last 20 years of teaching, I’ve had the privilege of watching children fall in love with stories, some silly, some heartwarming, and many that have become true classroom classics. These books have been read aloud hundreds of times, passed from hand to hand, and even listened to again and again as audiobooks during quiet moments in our day. They’ve become part of our classroom’s identity.

As you can imagine, many of these well-loved favorites are showing serious signs of wear.

Pages are torn, covers are barely hanging on, and it’s time to give them the refresh they deserve.

With your help, I’d love to replace these cherished titles with newer, sturdier editions, books that will continue to engage and inspire future students for years to come.

In addition to books, I’m also requesting a few essential items to support my young learners’ development:

Triangle crayons, which help little hands build proper pencil grip and stay put on the table (no more rolling onto the floor).

Seasonal and themed reward stickers, which serve as simple but meaningful motivators that help children feel proud of their efforts.

Every item in this project supports early literacy, fine motor development, and positive reinforcement, foundational elements of a joyful and effective classroom. Your support will help us continue to build a space where learning is celebrated and stories come to life, day after day.
