My Project

Our students come from all backgrounds and are so unique and special. But there is a noticeable lack of books that feature mixed-race characters and families in our classroom library, which means many students don’t see themselves reflected in the stories they read.

By providing access to books that represent mixed-race experiences, students can feel truly seen, valued, and included.

These stories not only reflect their own backgrounds but also help all students better understand and appreciate the rich diversity of their peers. Representation matters, and having inclusive books is a powerful step toward building a classroom where every child feels they belong.

Having a Tpt gift card would allow access to teacher-created digital content such as slideshows, worksheets, posters, and social-emotional learning (SEL) activities that support racial justice and representation tailored by grade level and age. We would be able to get book companions and resources connected to the literature and books as well. Tpt materials are the best because teachers know what is needed and create what is not offered in stores.

These resources are often more relatable and classroom-tested, created by educators who understand what works for students at this age. They offer engaging, age-appropriate ways to explore important topics like fairness, empathy, and inclusion.

By using content that reflects diverse voices and real-world experiences, the classroom becomes a more inclusive space where every student feels seen, valued, and empowered.
