Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The first day of kindergarten is a major transition in all young children’s lives. As a new Kindergarten teacher, I will do my best to make this transition as fun and engaging as possible. My new 5 year-old students will be curious little ones full of energy because they will be entering kindergarten. Some of them will enter school for the first time.

I believe that every student has the potential to learn and it is our job to find engaging activities that will unlock their full potential.

I teach in a public school that is located in a city where we have a 90 percent socioeconomically disadvantaged population and 4 percent foster youth.

My Project

We already know being creative can make us happier and healthier. But while we may think of creativity in terms of writing a novel or painting a masterpiece, experts say it can really mean anything from playing and creating something with Legos to drawing pictures.

Creativity is all about finding new ways of solving problems and approaching situations.

I want to request Lego Duplos to help my students fire up their creativity spark. I know kindergarteners are curious and with the Lego Duplos they will use their creativity while playing with others.

Students have always loved creating art. They are never satisfied with just a box of crayons, this is why I would like to give them a place where they can paint. The easel will help them with this. I'm also asking for magnetic letters, playing with magnetic letters will help them learn their letters and sounds while practicing and creating words.
