My students need seven power cord protectors and four power strips so that they can be charged up and ready for learning.

My Students
How many times have you been working with technology and have run out of power? Students in this classroom use technology everyday; and when it runs out of power, they lose their ability to participate and communicate.
The students in this classroom range from 14 to 21 years old.
Students all have a disability ranging from mild to severe. The students participate in classes with their peers and specialized classes to help them become integrated members of their community.
My Project
Having surge protectors and cable protectors will allow us to have electricity in a safe and manageable way and will allow the students to use their technology all day. For some students, it's their only way to communicate effectively.
Losing power is a major problem for us because the students use the technology at school and home. When charging at school, the students then lose their ability to communicate and participate because the only way to charge the technology is in a cabinet.
The cable protectors allows us to move the tables to the best place for each student to work and still allow wheelchairs and walkers to move around the room without hurting the power cables. The surge protectors swivel allowing us to use all the plugs efficiently.
These cable protectors and surge protectors will allow the students to be a part of their community all day long.
When using technology to communicate and participate in daily activities, it must have power to work. Students will learn to take charge of their own communication and the devices that allow them to participate.
