I work with a wonderful group of students with special needs. I have students with autism, intellectual disabilities, and multiple disabilities. My students are cheerful and love to learn. My students have differing ability levels, from non-verbal to reading and writing.
My students benefit from differentiated activities and materials through a hands-on learning experience.
Visuals and tactile materials help my students engage. These students require a small, self-contained special education classroom. Our school is an excellent school which caters to students with disabilities.
My Project
I am looking to create a technology center in my classroom which has laptops for my students to use in their exploration of topics. Students will build computer skills which are essential for their educational future. Students will be able to engage in educational games and videos about subjects being taught.
This Chromebook will provide opportunities for my students to delve deeper into topics through research using kid-safe search engines.
Students will be able to improve their ability to navigate using a computer. Students will be able to build their typing skills. This Chromebook will assist students in using a different mode of writing for those struggling with handwriting.
