Behavior School Dual Classroom Seeking Tech for SEL and Motivation
Help me give my students tech. With behavior students, tech can be such a good motivator. We have already bought 4 iPads ourselves but as we continue getting more students, it’s hard to keep up. Thank you.

My Project
We are a married couple who also happens to co-teach at an alternative Day School setting for students with emotional differences. Our students have struggled in typical school settings and come to us after they are kicked out of their general education setting.
As educators dedicated to supporting the emotional well-being of our students, we understand the importance of providing tools and resources that promote social-emotional learning (SEL) and help students regulate their emotions.
To further this goal, we propose the acquisition of iPads, MP3 players, and PE equipment for our classroom. These tools will not only enhance our ability to teach SEL but also serve as motivating rewards and provide opportunities for physical activity and engagement.
iPads for SEL and Motivation
• SEL Apps: iPads will allow us to utilize a variety of apps specifically designed to teach SEL skills such as self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
• Motivational Rewards: iPads can be used as motivational rewards for students who demonstrate positive behavior or make progress in their emotional growth.
MP3 Players for Self-Soothing Practices
• Music for Calming: MP3 players loaded with calming music or guided meditation recordings can help students regulate their emotions and practice self-soothing techniques.
PE Equipment for Engagement and Physical Activity
• New Game Opportunities: Acquiring new PE equipment will allow us to introduce a variety of games and activities that promote physical health, teamwork, and social interaction.
As teachers who prioritize emotional support and personal growth, we believe that providing iPads, MP3 players, and PE equipment will significantly enhance our ability to support our students’ emotional well-being, motivation, and overall development. We are confident that these resources will have a positive impact on our students’ lives and academic success.
