My Students
When most people go to work, they are greeted by a computer, a register, or a telephone. I get greeted by tiny, smiling faces that are eager to learn. These amazing students are the reason I gladly stay till five at night, come in on the weekends, and toss and turn at night thinking about their successes and areas of improvement.
There is growing scientific evidence that shows students' environments greatly impact their ability to learn and their test scores.
My goal is to create a classroom environment and provide supplies that help students thrive to the best of their ability. My students are kind, giving, happy, and dedicated to their education. Knowing that cheeseburgers are my favorite food, I often hear, "Mrs. C., meet me in the cafeteria, cheeseburgers are on the menu today. You can share mine with me!" They have pride in who they are, how hard they work at school, and the bond we have made. At my school, more than half of our students are economically disadvantaged, and many come from foster programs and/or are English language learners. My Project
I am requesting water bottles and stickers for my students for both health and incentive reasons. Currently all water fountains are shut down for safety protocols due to Covid-19 so students need to bring the need their own bottles. Kindergartens often forget about bringing their water to school which is not healthy, but donating to this project will ensure they get their health needs met.
This project is promoting both health and meeting their academic and behavioral goals, a win win!
The water bottles will stay at school, so students don't forget them at home which is ensure they have water daily. I am also requesting stickers as a reward program in my class. When students meet their weekly academic and behavioral goals they will be able to chose a sticker of their liking to decorate their water bottles. I am very excited for the potential of this project, thank you for considering.
