My kids are super eager learners! They want to succeed and it makes them feel good when they do.
We live in a small rural town in Northern California.
My kids don't know beyond our small town, there is a big world out there filled with opportunity and promise. I teach at a school with one of the highest rates of free and reduced price lunches in the state. On a daily basis, I am trying to teach kids, while also addressing some of the most basic social, emotional, and nutritional needs that you would expect the home to be meeting. I love the kids I teach. I feel that I make a real difference in their lives.
My Project
My district sent me to a training on Guided Language Acquisition Design. Through this training, science and social studies comes to life. We will use the twist-able crayons to color in maps, animals, and timelines. They will get to create songs, chants, and poems on the chart paper and use the chart markers to write with.
With your generous donation, my kids will be able to not just learn, but experience science and social studies.
We will get to be creative, collaborative learners. They will have the tools they need to be successful and be a part of their learning, not just sit back and hope that it happens.
