This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach bright, wonderful Pre-K children in a high need community. A lot of them are learning letters and sounds, but many have moved on to beginning reading and writing. What a smart group of children!
In Pre-K, we usually teach beginning skills in reading and writing such as letters, sounds, and phonemic awareness. We do not teach through worksheets and other inappropriate activities, but instead teach these concepts through fun games.
Due to children now coming in more academically advanced and having different learning styles, I need new materials that will help them advance at their level. All materials I am asking for are age appropriate and teach more advanced concepts through engaging activities.
My class needs literacy games and writing materials that can be used in various centers such as dramatic play, table toys, writing center, listening center, and the library. They also need leapfrog learning dvds, games, and various books that will serve to different learning styles.
Your help will ensure that my students will learn beginning reading and writing in fun, engaging activities. It will allow advanced children to learn harder concepts and children who are at or below level to gain more knowledge. Thank you so much for any help you can give!
