PreK students are all about playing, hands-on activities, and lots of exploration. Singing, playtime, art projects, and read-aloud stories are some favorite parts of their day. They are thoughtful, engaged, and always eager to come to school.
I strive to provide a welcoming environment where my students feel safe, encouraged, and loved as they learn through play.
My students use fine motor journals throughout the school year as a precursor to writing in future grades. Fine motor muscles are essential to develop for handwriting skills in future grades. Journal activities include coloring pictures with dot markers, tracing lines, q-tip painting, cutting pieces of yarn, and making pictures with stickers. The heavy duty 3 ring binders will hold all of their work. Post-Its save their page so they know where to open the binder next time. We love doing fine motor journals and these materials will make this daily activity possible!
