This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class is made up of English Language Learners, general education students, and students with disabilities. Even with their various learning challenges and language challenges, my students never fail to exceed my expectations, which as a teacher is always humbling. These incredible learners deserve to have the supplies they need.

My First Graders are very enthusiastic and excited learners. They just need some additional tools to get them on their way to learning.
My Project
This is my first year teaching dual language. That means that I have 42 students to supply books for this year. These students need beginner books and unfortunately these are the books I have the least amount of.
My students need books with lots of pictures in order to help them learn to read in English.
They are learning English and Spanish at the same time and need lots of visuals in order to help them. Many of my students are even pre-readers and need these low level, picture rich texts to practice reading.
The more books my students can have a chance to read, the better chance they will have to become incredible readers.
