My Students
The students that I work within the cross country and track & field programs at BHS are some of the hardest working student-athletes that I have worked with throughout the years. Not only do they work hard on the athletic field, but they also put in the work in the classroom.
My student-athletes do everything they can to be successful on the athletic field and in the classroom and I would like to give them some new tools to help increase that success.
My Project
During the pandemic, my student-athletes have not had the opportunity to get in auxiliary work to supplement their running as much as I would like them to be able to. We need to figure out alternative ways to help them gain athleticism and get extra work done in an outside environment.
Having our own set of jump ropes gives us the ability to do activities that help my runners grow, not just as runners, but overall athletically as well.
Also, we are on the move a lot with practices, practicing at the track or on the trails in the area, and being able to take these jump ropes with us will give us the opportunity to work on gaining athleticism more often because we will be able to transport them with us to those different locations much easier than returning to school to use the equipment in the weight room.
