Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Rewarding positive behaviors, academic efforts, and going above and beyond with prizes can really motivate students and reinforce good habits. Plus, having easy access to books through book bins will help create an organized and inviting space for reading and learning. My students thoroughly enjoy our morning meeting in which I read a selected character education book and we have discussions on how we can handle issues that may arise. It is a valuable time in our day.
A point system has been steadily effective for my students.
They earn points with positive actions and reaching academic goals that they set. They can even earn lunch in the garden with their teacher…a special treat for all! My students have contributed their ideas for these additional prize items.
