Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My fourth-graders like to read, but they like games even more! This is why I have requested the Reading Comprehension Games Library through this proposal. My hope is that students will become stronger readers by sharpening their skills using these board games.

With games focused on essential skills like making inferences, clarifying vocabulary, determining the main idea, and aligning cause and effect, students will be able to better understand and interact with various texts in and outside of our classroom.

With your kindness and generosity, my students will be able to experience a more lively and engaging reading block than can be provided by our curriculum only.

Additionally, because the games are designed for play with two-four players, students will be practicing their interpersonal skills such as winning and losing gracefully, taking turns, respecting others' strengths and needs, and helping a friend in need.
