This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The scholars I teach have so much potential, and it's my job to help them achieve it. The majority of our students are from low socioeconomic and ethnically diverse backgrounds. We are an urban school that serves grades preschool through 8th and is limited in funding in all areas. My second graders are determined and spunky. They are eager to learn new things and want to share all their thoughts and ideas with me and their classmates.
The STEM Bundle has fun-filled craft kits that allow my scholars to create and customize real-working vehicles to innovative activities that encourage problem-solving through classic folk tales.
STEM toys explore problem-solving, cause-and-effect, and hypothesis testing. At home, students will use Legos to build and use elements of a folk tale to create their own. At school, I am excited to introduce a STEM component to encourage imaginative solutions while learning about folk tales.
