My 25 Kindergartners are in love with learning! Everything is new and exciting to them. They love doing centers, hands-on activities, and singing and dancing. For many of them, this is their first time in school. My school has a significant percent of free or reduced lunch. This is my first year teaching Kindergarten Tools Of The Mind program. This program teaches responsibility, team work, and self regulation in the smallest group of children. It immerses children into the Magic Treehouse series.
My Project
Have you ever wanted to live in medieval times? Through the book "The Knight At Dawn" and with a little help from you my kids will get that experience. I have asked for some medieval decorations to make my classroom and dramatic play center come alive. I have asked for figures and costumes for my kids to use during our daily retell period. This helps students grow in the area of comprehension and shows they understand what is being read to them. It also allows them to be creative and build their team work. In addition, I have asked for some fun read alouds to further engage my students, further their reading skills, and further the immersive process .
