My Project
I teach fourth grade immigrant students from various countries. My students speak lots of different languages and our school is very diverse and multicultural. My students are in need of a Chromebook that can be used for computer science activities and financial literacy.
Wendy Kopp, founder of Teach for America, states, "Ensuring that our nation's urban and rural children have the chance to become proficient in computer science is a sure way to set them on a trajectory to great career options.
We need to do this to close the digital divide and level the playing field."
We need to create ambitious computer programming superheroes of tomorrow who will strive to achieve in all areas of technology. We need to break the barriers and "level the playing field," by encouraging young girls to pursue careers in this field. We need all young children to become active participants in this digital world.
Let's welcome my students’ back to school year with a sparkling Chromebook. I believe coding and teaching financial literacy create a path for everyone. Let's make my vision of creating computer programming and financial literacy superheroes of tomorrow.
