This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are energetic and curious about the world. They come to school eager, ready to learn and meet challenges head-on. Their growth mindset and enthusiasm for learning is contagious, as they inspire me to challenge them and empower them with the skills they need to prepare them for the multi-cultural 21st century. They live in a low-income neighborhood, with a high Hispanic population and to most, English is their second language. One hundred percent of them qualify for free lunch.

My Project

This All-In-One printer will help my students get their illustrations to an online publishing company. They have been working on writing Personal Narratives and have worked through the writing process; planning, drafting, revising, editing, and they are now ready to publish. My students will work online to type and publish their writing, but their drawings need to be scanned and downloaded to the website.

This printer will allow my students to transfer their handmade drawings to their online books.

The publishing company will then print hardbound books and send them to each of my students.

Having this experience will motivate my students to become illustrators and authors. After working diligently on their artwork they will have the opportunity to use technology and see their finished product, a book of their own!
