My Students

My students are an amazing group of third graders. They are enthusiastic about school and embrace everything we do in class. They love reading, P.E., math, and science. Our school is a kindergarten through eighth-grade school located in rural California. It houses 450 students. Our school is surrounded by forests and mountains and has daily visitors such as geese, turkeys, and deer.

My school had a fire on January 26.

I lost my entire classroom to smoke damage. The materials requested in this project are to help my students and I rebuild our classroom and supplies.

My Project

My students need play money, snacks, toys, pens and pencils for our classroom store.

Students are given paper money for positive behavior, bringing in homework and completing assignments.

Each week students go to our classroom store, the Mustang Store, to purchase items (with the money requested in this project) such as the snacks and school supplies that were requested in this proposal. Students are motivated and value our store, so they tend to elicit the behaviors needed to earn money.

With this project, students will be learning financial literacy skills. They will learn to make change, save and budget. We currently are running low on our classroom supplies, so this project is requesting material to replenish our store materials.

Students will use the money to buy the snacks, which the will eat. They will use the money to buy the toys, with which they will play. They will use the ones to buy pens and pencils, which they will use to complete class work.
