WE WANT TO BE BETTER READERS!!! My 60 inner-city fourth graders want to become better readers. They come from rough homes and backgrounds but they are so eager to learn! You really can't find more deserving kids than the kids in my two fourth grade Language Arts/Reading classes!
Picture a classroom of fourth graders who are jumping at the chance to become better readers yet they don't have fun, interesting, entertaining, on-level reading supplies to help them improve their skills. Boring, old, torn up, out of date supplies don't exactly grab kids' attention and make them want to learn. Just because they are inner-city kids doesn't mean they deserve the left over, old, torn up supplies. These kids want the bright, shiny, new supplies too! These two classes of 4th graders want to have fun and become better readers.
My students need reading comprehension and reading fluency games that are up-to-date and on-level. These games and activities will help the students to improve their comprehension and fluency skills while learning to work together, work individually, and understand that learning can be fun and rewarding!
Your donation will empower my two classes of fourth grade students to improve their reading comprehension and reading fluency. With your help they will know that someone cares about them and wants them to have the best and be their best.
