This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class is comprised of 22 creative and imaginative kindergarteners who are eager to learn about the world around them! All 22 children speak a foreign language at home and have to put in a little extra focus to learn English at school. Most of my students receive free and reduced lunch here at school and have limited resources available to them at home due to living a high poverty lifestyle. These barriers do not hold them back though!
Each child walks into the classroom each morning with a high desire to learn.
I use this opportunity to my advantage and make sure that my school day is packed with memorable lessons and activities for each child. There just is no time to waste!
My Project
The Osmo Genius Kits will be an innovative way to apply students' learning through the use of our iPad technology. The games and activities that are available, such as the tangrams, align well to our College and Career Readiness State Standards.
Combining the Osmo Kits into my daily routines will be a smooth transition and truly enhance the learning that is taking place in the classroom.
So many of my students are already tech savvy, that I know they will be excited to dive right in if this project is funded! This will also be a great way for them to show off their imagination and creativity!
