This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a wonderful group of third graders. They come to school ready and eager to learn; however, we are Title I school and have a high population of low income families, some of whom are living at or near the poverty level. Because our families are on very limited budgets, some students don't have backpacks to hold their school supplies. Yet, our families love and care very much for their children and want the best education for them. Our students deserve to have every opportunity to be academically successful.

My Project

If we are lucky enough to get a brand new class set of books called Because Winn-Dixie, we will be able to read this fictional book together as Echo Dot reads it aloud to us. Students can follow along and learn new vocabulary words as well as collaborate with their peers to discuss each chapter. Later they can write summaries. This would help my students better prepare them for the state test. Please help my students get these books to help them become better readers and get better prepared for their first time taking the state test. We appreciate your donation.
