My Project

At our school, we believe in nurturing not only the skills but also the well-being of our students. Our Cosmetology program is a unique opportunity for students to develop practical skills that can lead to rewarding careers. However, we recognize that mental health is an equally crucial aspect of their growth.

We’re excited to launch a new initiative that integrates mental health awareness with our cosmetology curriculum, specifically focusing on the use of curling irons.

This project aims to provide our students with the tools and support they need to excel both personally and professionally.

Enhance Cosmetology Skills: Equip students with high-quality curling irons to refine their technical skills in hairstyling.

Promote Mental Health Awareness: Incorporate mental health education into the curriculum, using the cosmetology setting to discuss stress management, self-care, and emotional well-being.

Create a Supportive Environment: Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere where students can openly discuss mental health issues and find resources for help.

What We Need:

High-Quality Curling Irons: Essential tools for hands-on training in hairstyling. These will ensure that our students receive top-notch practical experience.

Guest Speakers and Workshops: Funding to bring in mental health professionals who can provide workshops and seminars on coping strategies, stress management, and the importance of mental well-being.

Skill Development: Students will gain hands-on experience with professional-grade tools, enhancing their future career prospects in the cosmetology field.

Mental Health Support: By embedding mental health education into our curriculum, we provide students with essential tools to manage their emotional well-being, both in their professional and personal lives.

Positive School Culture: This project fosters an environment where students feel supported and valued, contributing to their overall happiness and academic success.
