This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The school that I am teaching at is an urban school in Bridgeport, Connecticut with 23 beautiful kindergarten students so far.

I have 14 boys and 9 girls.

They are kind and helpful children who are team players even at this young age. These little children are very active and fun loving with open hearts and minds for learning.

However, we are in a 100% free breakfast and lunch with many school and district extreme budget issues. One of the budget cuts in our district was our Kindergarten classroom paraprofessional. This is a huge disservice for our kindergarteners this year.

My Project

My students will be able to make their work come alive. They will be able to use color in all they do. We use color in our writing, math and reading activities. They use color with art, science and all activities that we do in class. Even their homework will look better if they have the proper use of color. They always want to do their best in all they do and make their work look outstanding. By having the crayons at their fingertips this can help them achieve their goal and make them feel proud of the work that they have completed.

I know that if given these crayons my students will appreciate what they have and take pride in all that they produce in the classroom.
