This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are enthusiastic and precious 3-5-year-old children. One of the most important skills we teach in preschool is how to learn in the whole group setting. The most intimate way we practice this skill with students is by gathering together on our classroom rug.

The classroom rug provides us with a warm gathering area in which students can gather together and build a strong sense of community.

This allows them the opportunity to practice turn-taking, listening comprehension, public speaking, and many other skills essential for understanding school norms. Our current classroom seating area is very old and no longer comfortable. Please help me improve this essential experience for my very deserving students.
